چکیده مقاله:

Background: Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease that affects synovial joints and causes joint damage due to stresses caused by an abnormality in any of the synovial joint tissues, including articular cartilage, subchondral bone, ligaments, menisci, periarticular muscles, peripheral nerves, and synovium. Objectives: To compare the effect of Sensory Motor Training versus Impairment Based Training on pain and physical function in subjects with knee osteoarthritis. Materials and Methods: Simple random sampling was used to divide 30 subjects between the ages of 50 and 70 who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria into two groups (n=15). Group A received sensory motor training, whereas Group B received impairment-based training. Before treatment, take a 10-minute walk to warm up. For three weeks, each group was treated three times per week. Pre and post outcomes are noted, VAS was used to assess pain, and WOMAC was used to assess physical function. Results: Comparison of posttest pain (VAS) scores between groups; the mean and standard deviation of posttest pain (VAS) score in sensory motor training group was 2.707±1.01. The mean and SD in the impairment-based training group were roughly the same, at 2.29±1.13. At the 5% level, it was statistically significant. Similarly, the mean and standard deviation of the posttest function (WOMAC) score in the sensory motor training group were 16.55±6.92. Conclusion: Sensory motor training is superior to impairment based training on pain and physical function in subjects with OA Knee.

Influence of elastic bandage on knee pain, proprioception, and postural sway in subjects with knee osteoarthritis.

OBJECTIVES To investigate whether a "standard" sized (that is, a size that would be prescribed by a physiotherapist) elastic bandage (S-bandage) around the knee of subjects with knee osteoarthritis (OA) would, in the short term (a) reduce pain, (b) improve knee joint proprioception, and (c) decrease sway in comparison with a looser (L-bandage). METHODS In a cross over, within-subject study, 6...
